Setting Your Computer Password

One of the most important things while using a computer is to set up your password to avoid people from easily getting into your computer system and using it as they want.


  • STEPS FOR SETTING UP COMPUTER PASSWORD
  • Step 1 - Go to your search box input in your status bar, at the left side of your windows desktop, after your windows home logo

  • Step 2 - Type Settings inside the search input box and click on the settings app (This will open your windows settings home page)

  • Step 3 - On your windows settings home page, click on Accounts (This will open the accounts settings section)

  • Step 4 - On the account settings page, move to Sign-in options and click it. (This will open your sign-in options settings page)

  • Step 5 - Under the heading Manage how you sign in to your device heading, Move to Password and click on it. (This will display the Change button) Click on the change button.

  • Step 6 - After clicking on the change button, a dialog box will open for you to type in your current password.

    NOTE:

    If you dont't have any previous password before, this dialog box will be skipped. It will display the next dialog box

  • Step 7 - After typing your current password, click Next and it will take you to another dialog box where you will be required to enter your New Password, Confirm Password and Hint. (Note that hint is words or sentence that can make you to remember your password)

  • Step 8 - Click Next to move the finish dialog box, then click Finish to finish setting your password

NOTE:

In Step 5, that is after clicking on Password, you can also set up your security question. This security question is what you can use to open your PC if you lose your password or want to recover your password.

CONCLUSION

From this tutorial, I believe you have been able to learn how to set up your computer password. Note that there are other options which you use to lock your computer system, but password is what is mostly used all the time.
