PowerPoint - Export Presentation

Export Presentation

In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to export presentations that you have created in PowerPoint.

  • EXPORT PRESENTATION
  • Step 1 - Click on the File Tab. This will take you to the home page of PowerPoint. At the left side, click on Export.

  • Step 2 - In the Export page, there are two columns. The first column contains categories of options that you can select from based on how you want to export your presentation, while the second column contains corresponding details of the option you clicked on the first column.

  • PDF/XPS DOCUMENT - This export option is used to export your presentation as a PDF/XPS document. Simply click on the Create PDF/XPS Document option on the first column, then click on the Create PDF/XPS button on the second column to export your presentation as PDF/XPS document as shown in the image below.

  • CREATE VIDEO - This export option is used to export your presentation in video format. Click on the Create Video option on the first column. In the second column after clicking, you will see a few details about this option. You will also see a selection menu that can be used to select the quality type of video you want. Below it, is the selection menu to set the timing, narations and seconds to be spent on each slide. And finally you can click on the Create Video button to proceed to export your presentation video format.

  • CREATE AN ANIMATED GIF - This export option is used to export your presentation in gif format. Simply click on the Create an Animated GIF option on the first column. As usual in the second column you will see details of infos. Here, you can also selected the quality type of GIF you want to use, options to make background transparent or not, seconds to be spent on each slide and inputs for setting the slide. Then lastly you can click on the Create GIF to export your presentation in GIF format.

  • PACKAGE PRESENTATION FOR CD - This export option is used when you want to save your presentation on a CD (Compact Disk). Simply click on the Package Presentation For CD option on the first column and then on the second column click on Package For CD.

  • The Package For CD dialog box will be displayed. In this dialog box, the first input field is for naming you CD. Next are the presentation files listed; that you want to package for cd.

  • Add and Remove buttons are used to add and remove presentation files from the list. Copy To Folder and Copy To CD buttons are used to copy your presentation files to Folder and CD respectively.

  • Options button is used to open move options, which displays a dialog box where you can enable options to include files which links and also set privacy and passwords.

  • Close button is used to close the dialog box.

  • CREATE HANDOUTS - This export option is used to export your presentation into Ms-Document. Handouts are usually in form of notes in a word document format. Simply click on the Create Handouts options in the first column, the click on Create Handouts button in the second column. This will automatically open your Ms-Word application, exporting all your slides, notes, etc that you have in your presentation on to a newly created word document.

  • CHANGE FILE TYPE - This export option is used change the file type of your presentation document. Click on Change File Type in the first column, then in the second column you will see different file types that you can change your file to: (.ppt, .odp, .potx, .ppsx, .pptx, .png .jpeg). After you can selected the file type you want to change to, simply click on the Save As button to proceed to save your presentation file with the file type you chose.

    TIP:

    Instead of using export to change file type, you can simply press Ctrl + Shift + S. And when the file explorer opens to save the presentation, below the file name selection menu, click on the Save As Type selection menu. This will display list of file types. Click on any one to change your presentation file type.
