Password PowerPoint Document

Passwords are usually very important when you want privacy protection. In this tutorial I will be showing you how to put password in your PowerPoint presentation document

  • PASSWORD PRESENTATION DOCUMENT
  • Step 1 - Open the presentation document that you want to put password.

  • Step 2 - Click on the File Tab to open presentation home page. Then click the Info option.

  • Step 3 - In the info section, click on the Protect Presentation option as shown in the image below.

  • Step 4 - From the dropdown list displayed, click on the Encrypt with Password option.

  • Step 5 - The encrypt document dialog box will be displayed. In this dialog box, type in your password in the Password input field and click on the OK button.

  • Step 6 - Next is the confirm password dialog box. Here you will have to confirm your password by entering it again in the Password input field. Then click the Ok button.

  • Step 7 - If the password you entered in the confirm password dialog box is not the same with the first one, PowerPoint will display a popup dialog box telling you that the password is not identical. Click on the OK button to return back to the and enter the correct password in the confirm password dialog box.

  • Step 8 - Your presentation is now fully protected.

  • Step 9 - Now, when closing the presentation, even if you didn't edit anything on the presentation PowerPoint will ask you whether you want to your save changes. Click the Save button.

    NOTE:

    If you click Don't Save after adding password to your presentation, the password will not be saved to your presentation.

  • Step 10 - Now, open your PowerPoint application and try and open the presentation again.

  • Step 11 - PowerPoint will request for the password to the presentation. Enter the password to open presentation.

  • REMOVE PASSWORD FROM WORKBOOK
  • Step 1 - Open PowerPoint application, and click on the presentation that you want to remove the password. PowerPoint will request for the password to that presentation. Enter the password to open the presentation.

  • Step 2 - If you type in the correct password the presentation document will be opened.

  • Step 3 - Click on the File which will open powerpoint. Then click on the Info option. In the info section, click on the Protect Presentation option as shown in the image below.

  • Step 4 - From the dropdown list displayed, click on the Encrypt with Password option.

  • Step 5 - The encrypt document dialog box will be displayed. In this dialog box, delete the password in the Password input field and click on the OK button.

  • Step 6 - The presentation will now be unprotected. The presentation no longer has a password. Remember to save changes when exiting so that when you try opening the presentation again, PowerPoint will not request for password.
