PowerPoint - Insert Audio

Insert Audio

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to add audio in PowerPoint.

  • INSERTING AUDIO (FROM PC)
  • Step 1 - Go to the slide where you want to insert the audio file.
  • Step 2 - Click on the Insert tab, go the Media group and click on the Audio option. (This will display a dropdown box with options)

  • Step 3 - From the options displayed click on the Audio On My PC option, PowerPoint automatically opens your file explorer where you can search for audio file on your device.
    Select the audio files and click the Insert button.

  • Step 4 - Your audio file will be successfully inserted.

  • INSERTING AUDIO (RECORDING)
  • Step 1 - Go to the slide where you want to insert the audio file.
  • Step 2 - Click on the Insert tab, go the Media group and click on the Audio option. (This will display a dropdown box with options)

  • Step 3 - From the options displayed click on the Record Audio option, PowerPoint automatically opens the Record Sound dialog box.
    In this dialog box you can type in the name of the sound you want to record. Below that you also have your: Total Sound Length, Play, Stop and Record Icons. After you have finished recording, click the OK button.

  • Step 4 - Your audio file (recording) will be successfully inserted.

  • FORMATTING INSERTED AUDIO
  • Step 1 - Click on the audio you want to format.
  • Step 2 - In the menu tab, click on the Audio Format tab, which will bring out different groups of related commands for you to use and format the video.

TIP:

You can use the Mini-Tool bar to format your audio also. These options include: Trim, Style, Etc.

  • FORMATTING INSERTED VIDEO (ADDITIONAL OPTION)
  • Step 1 - Click on the audio you want to format.
  • Step 2 - In the menu tab, click on the Play Back tab, which will bring out different groups of related commands for you to use and format the audio.
