Insert Header and Footer

In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to insert header and footer in your PowerPoint presentation. This is not often used, but in some cases, it might be useful as you advance in life.

• INSERT HEADER
• Step 1 - Go to the menu tab, click on the Insert tab, then go to the Text group and click on Header and Footer.


• Step 2 - From the Header and Footer dialog box that is displayed, click on the Notes and Handouts tab.




NOTE:

In PowerPoint, you cannot add headers to slides, it can only be added to notes and handouts.

• Step 3 - Inside the Notes and Handouts tab, go to the header part click the checkbox beside it and type in the content of what you want to put in the header inside the input field. After this you can click on the Apply button to insert the header the current notes or handouts you are on. If you have more that one slides in your presentation and you want to apply that particular header to all the notes or handouts, click on the Apply To All button.


• Step 4 - The header will be applied successfully.

• INSERT FOOTER
• Step 1 - Go to the menu tab, click on the Insert tab, then go to the Text group and click on Header and Footer.


• Step 2 - From the Header and Footer dialog box that is displayed, inside the slides tab, go to the footer part, click on the checkbox beside it type in the content of what you want to put in the header inside the input field. After this you can click on the Apply button to insert the header the current slide you are on. If you have more that one slides in your presentation and you want to apply that particular header to all the slide, click on the Apply To All button.




NOTE:

In PowerPoint, footers can be inserted to both slides and handouts/notes, but headers cannot be inserted into slides.

• Step 3 - The footer will be applied successfully.
