PowerPoint - Insert Video

Insert Video

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to add videos in PowerPoint from any source.

  • INSERTING VIDEO
  • Step 1 - Go to the slide where you want to insert the video.
  • Step 2 - Click on the Insert tab, go the Media group and click on the Video option. (This will display a dropdown box with options)

  • Step 3 - From the options displayed, if you click the Stock Videos or Online Videos this will require internet connection to open stock images or get videos online.
    When you click on the This Device option, PowerPoint automatically opens your file explorer where you can search for video on your device.
    Select the video(s) and click the Insert button.

  • Step 4 - Your video will be successfully inserted.

  • FORMATTING INSERTED VIDEO
  • Step 1 - Click on the video you want to format.
  • Step 2 - In the menu tab, click on the Video Format tab, which will bring out different groups of related commands for you to use and format the video.

  • Step 2 (Alternate formatting) - Right click on the video you want to format, from the dropdown list, move to Format Video and click on it, (This will open the format video pane from the right side of your PowerPoint windows) then select the options you want to use and start formatting the video.

TIP:

You can use the Mini-Tool bar to format your video also. You can also use few options from the dropdown menu list when you right click the video you want to format. These options include: Trim, Style, Size and Position, Bring To Front Etc.

  • Step 2 - In the menu tab, click on the Play Back tab, which will bring out different groups of related commands for you to use and format the video.
