How To Create Hanging Indentation

Hanging indentation is used to create indentation from the second line of each paragraph excluding the first line. It is not very common to use hanging indentation when formatting document but it also good if you know how to do it.

  • HOW TO CREATE HANGING INDENTATION
  • Step 1 - Go to your document and select the paragraphs or click on the paragraph that you want create hanging indentation for.
    Click your Home tab, in your Paragraph group click on the dialog box launcher.

  • Step 2 - In your Paragraph dialog box launcher, go to the indentation section, click on the Special dropdown button and select Hanging. You can set the amount of space your hanging indentation will have by set the input number field below the By option.

  • Step 3 - After you are done click on the Okay button and your hanging indentation will be successfully applied to your document.
