How To Put Password In Document

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to set password in your Ms-word document, so that whenever someone wants to access your document, they will need to provide the password for that document.

  • SETTING PASSWORD IN DOCUMENT
  • Step 1 - Open the document that you want to set password for.

  • Step 2 - Click the File tab, click on the Info option.

  • Step 3 - Inside the info option, click on the Protect Document button (A list of options will be displayed). Click on the Encrypt with Password option.

  • Step 4 - A dialog box will be displayed for you to enter password, type in the password you want to use inside the Password input field and click Okay. (Another confirmation dialog box will be displayed). Then Re-type in the password again and click the Okay button.

  • Step 5 - Your document is now fully protected.

  • Step 6 - When you close the document and try to open it again, it will prompt you for the password.

  • REMOVE PASSWORD IN DOCUMENT
  • Step 1 - Open the protected document, remember it will ask you for this password, type the password in and click Okay to open the document.

  • Step 2 - Click the File tab, click on the Info option.

  • Step 3 - Inside the info option, click on the Protect Document button (A list of options will be displayed). Click on the Encrypt with Password option.

  • Step 4 - A dialog box will be displayed with your current password in the password input field. Click on the field and press BACKSPACE key to delete the password. Then click the Okay button.

  • Step 5 - Notice that you document is now unprotected. So when you close the document and open it, ms-word will not require you to input password, the document will just open successfully.
