Page Orientation, Page Size and Columns

DEFINITION:

Page orientation is the direction in which a document is being displayed.
Page size refers to the length and width of a document.
Columns in Ms-word refers to how the content of a document are being grouped vertically.

In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to set page orientation, page size and how to place the content of your document in columns. It is very easy and simple, just follow the steps below.

  • SETTING PAGE ORIENTATION
  • Step 1 - Go to the document you want to set its page orientation. Click on the Layout tab, go the Page Setup group and click on the Orientation option. (This will display the two orientation options).

  • Step 2 (Landscape) - If you click on the Landscape orientation option, you document page will be changed to landscape

  • Step 2 (Portrait) - If you click on the Portrait orientation option, you document page will be changed to portrait

  • SETTING PAGE SIZE
  • Step 1 - Go to the document you want to set its page size. Click on the Layout tab, go the Page Setup group and click on the Size option. (This will display the different paper sizes that Ms-word has).

  • Step 2 - Click on any of the size you want to use, and your document will be adjusted to that size.

    For more paper size options, click on the More paper sizes option from the dropdown list and the page setup dialog box will be displayed for you to see more sizes and also adjust paper sizes as you wish.

  • COLUMNS
  • Step 1 - Select the text that you want to arrange into columns. Click on the Layout tab, go the Page Setup group and click on the Columns option. (This will display list of columns types).

  • Step 2 - Click on any of the column types and it will be applied to the selected text.

    For more column options, click on the More Columns option from the dropdown list and the columns dialog box will be displayed for you to see more column types, set the number of columns your want, set width and spacing for the columns etc.
