DEFINITION:

Line spacing is the distance between two lines in a document.
Paragraph spacing is the distance between two paragraphs in a document.

Line and Paragraph are necessary in formatting your document to make the text in your document easy to read by other people.

  • LINE SPACING
  • Adding line spacing to your document is very simple, follow the steps below to add line spacing to your document.

  • Step 1 - Select the lines of texts that you want to apply line spacing to.

  • Step 2 - In your Home tab, go to the Paragraph group and click on the Line and Paragraph Spacing dropdown arrow-head button.
    This will bring out list of line spacing options for you to use. Click on any of them to apply it.

    To see more advance options in line and paragraph spacing, you can click on the Line Spacing Options from the dropdown list, and this will display the Paragraph dialog box where you can use different settings.

  • Step 1 - Select the paragraph(s) that you want to apply line spacing to.

  • Step 2 - In your Home tab, go to the Paragraph group and click on the Line and Paragraph Spacing dropdown arrow-head button.
    From the dropdown list, click on Add Space Before Paragraph or Remove Space Before Paragraph option, to add or remove space before the paragraph.

  • For 1.0 line spacing Ctrl + 1
  • For 1.5 line spacing Ctrl + 5
  • For 2.0 line spacing Ctrl + 2
