Insert Charts and Screenshots

In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to insert charts and screenshots into your ms-word document.

  • INSERTING CHARTS
  • Step 1 - Place your text cursor in the position in your document where you want to insert the chart.
  • Step 2 - Click on the Insert tab, go the Illustrations group and click on the Chart option. (This will bring out the Insert Chart dialog box)

  • Step 3 - From the dialog box, in the first column click on the category of charts you want to see.
    On the second column, from the first row click on the chart you want to use, the second row shows you the preview of the chart you want to insert.
    Click the Okay button to insert the chart.

  • Step 4 - Your chart will be successfully inserted.

    NOTE:

    Charts comes with a default excel work sheet where you can edit the figures to suit your own document chart work.

  • FORMATTING CHARTS
  • Step 1 - Click on the chart you want to format.
  • Step 2 - In the menu tab, click on the Chart Design tab, which will bring out different groups of related commands for you to use and format the chart.

  • Step 2 (Alternate tab) - In the menu tab, click on the Format tab, which will bring out different groups of related commands for you to use and format the chart.

  • Step 2 (Alternate formatting) - Right click on the chart you want to format, click on the Format Chart Area (This will open the Format Chart Area pane from the right side of your windows document) then select the options you want to use and start formatting.

    NOTE:

    You can format each different parts of your chart by clicking on them. For example you can format the plot area, data series, chart title etc by right clicking on them and selecting the option to edit it.

  • INSERTING SCREENSHOTS
  • Step 1 - Place your text cursor in the position in your document where you want to insert the screenshot.
  • Step 2 - Click on the Insert tab, go the Illustrations group and click on the Screenshot option. (This will display available screenshots from your device and screen clipping option)

  • Step 3 - If you click on the any of the available screenshots, it will be inserted into your document.
    If you click on the Screen clipping option, your mouse pointer will be changed to a plus sign symbol. Then go to window you want to screenshot, hold the click button and select the area you want to screenshot and release the click button. Your screenshot will be inserted successfully.

  • Step 1 - Click on the screenshot you want to format.
  • Step 2 - In the menu tab, click on the Picture Format tab, which will bring out different groups of related commands for you to use and format the screenshot.

  • Step 2 (Alternate formatting) - Right click on the screenshot you want to format, from the dropdown list, move to Format Picture and click on it, (This will open the format picture pane from the right side of your windows document) then select the options you want to use and start formatting the screenshot.
