Page Numbering

Ms-word provides you with the feature of numbering each page of your document. For large documents containing more than 100pages, typing the page number one by one at the bottom will take all day and night, so the feature to number pages automatically was built in with Ms-word to make work easy and fast.

  • INSERTING PAGE NUMBER
  • Step 1 - Go to the document you want to insert page numbering. Click on the Insert tab, go the Header and Footer group and click on the Page Number option. (This will display a dropdown list).

  • Step 2 - From the dropdown list, move your mouse pointer over the option that you want to use, this will display list of built-in number styles.

  • Step 3 - Click on the style you want and Ms-word will insert the page number to all the pages in that document. In the Header and Footer tab inside the Close group click on the close command to exit.

  • Step 4 - DONE!

  • FORMATTING PAGE NUMBERING
  • Step 1 - Go to the document you want to remove the page numbering. Click on the Insert tab, go the Header and Footer group and click on the Page Number option. (This will display a dropdown list). From the dropdown list, click on the Format Page Numbers option. (This will display a page number format dialog box).

  • Step 2 - From the dialog box, you can change the page number format. If you have various chapters and headings, you can also click on the checkbox to include chapter format and edit chapter styles, examples and separator.

  • Step 3 - Click the Okay button from the dialog box and your page number will be formatted successfully.

  • REMOVING PAGE NUMBERING
  • Step - Go to the document you want to remove the page numbering. Click on the Insert tab, go the Header and Footer group and click on the Page Number option. (This will display a dropdown list). From the dropdown list, click on the Remove Page Numbers option. This page number will be removed successfully.
