How To Curve Text

In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to curve text in Ms-word. Curve text are often used when designing certificates, flier and other simple graphics. With the few steps below, you can learn how to curve text in few minutes.

  • HOW TO CURVE TEXT
  • Step 1 - Open your Ms-word document and select the text that you want to curve.

  • Step 2 - Go to the Insert tab, in the text group, click on the Text Box option. From the dropdown options, move down and click on the Draw Text Box option.

  • Step 3 - The text will now have text box formatting borders.

  • Step 4 - Right click on the text box border and click on the Format Shape option (This will open the Format Shape pane from the right side of the document window).
    In the Format Shape pane, make sure the Fill is set to No Fill and Line to No Line.

  • Step 5 - Then click on the Format Shape tab, go to the WordArt Styles group and click on the Text Effects option (This will display a dropdown list of options).
    Place your mouse pointer over the Transform option, and a list of transform options will be displayed. Then inside the follow path section, click on the Arch option.

  • Step 6 - Now the text is curved. To make adjust, resize or curve the text very well to your satisfaction, move your mouse pointer to the bottom right point, then hold down click button and drag to resize or curve text to your satisfaction.

  • Step 7 - The curve is now perfect and good to go.

  • Step 8 - Click outside the text box to see text without text box editing borders.

NOTE:

To add other formatting to the text such as color, outline, borders etc. Just click on the text and use the mini-toolbar or go to Home tab and use any styling options that you want.

  • Step 1 - Click to select the text. (Note that the text will become straight).

  • Step 2 - Here I am going to add a color and underline the text. Right click on the text to use the mini-toolbar above to do this or go to Home tab and use the commands and options inside the Font group to do it.

  • Step 3 - After you done formatting, click outside the text box, to clearly view it.

  • RESIZE CURVE
  • Step 1 - To resize the curve itself, click on the curved text to bring out the editing borders. At the left side, you will a color point, move your mouse pointer there, hold down click and move up (to reduce curve) or down (to increase curve).
