DEFINITION:

Indentation is the is placing of an indent (empty space) at the beginning of a text.

In this tutorial I will be showing you the very simple way on how to increase and decrease indentation in cells.

  • INCREASING INDENTATION
  • Step 1 - Select the cell or cells that contains the text that you want to increase its indentation.

  • Step 2 - Click the Home tab, and go the Alignment group. Inside the alignment group, click on the Increase Indent button and an empty space will be added at the beginning of the text inside the selected cells.

    NOTE:

    If you click on the increase indent button multiple times, it will continue to add empty space, increasing the selected cells text indentation.

  • Step 3 - Indentation applied successfully.

  • DECREASE INDENTATION
  • Step 1 - Select the cell or cells that contains the text that you want to decrease its indentation.

  • Step 2 - Click the Home tab, and go the Alignment group. Inside the alignment group, click on the Decrease Indent button and the empty space will be removed from the beginning of the text inside the selected cells.

    NOTE:

    If you click on the decrease indent button multiple times, it will continue to remove empty spaces, decreasing the selected cells text indentation.
