Text Orientation

Text orientation is simply the direction (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) of how the text is placed inside the cell. In this tutorial, I am going to be showing you how you can change the orientation of text inside a cell. Just follow the simple steps below.

  • Step 1 - Select the cells that contains the text you want to change the orientation.

  • Step 2 - Click the Home tab, go to the Alignment group and click on the Orientation button, and a dropdown list of options will be displayed. Click on any of the first five options you want and the text orientation type will be applied to the text in the selected cells.

To manually change the text orientation of the selected text inside the cell. Click on the Home tab again, go to the Alignment group and click on the Orientation button, and a dropdown list of options will be displayed. From the dropdown list, click on the Format Cell Alignment.

A Dialog Box will be displayed. Inside the Alignment tab, you will see the Orientation section at the right side of the dialog box. Now you can change the orientation by using your mouse to adjust it or by setting the degree of the rotation you want inside the number input field.
