How To Do Rows and Columns Conversion

In this tutorial I will be showing you step by step on how to convert row values or data into column. Just follow up with the few steps below and you will learn this in less than 5mins.

  • CONVERT ROW TO COLUMN
  • Step 1 - Open you excel worksheet and type the following data in the image below.

  • Step 2 - Select the data. Then Right click on the selected data. From the list of options displayed, click on Copy.

  • Step 3 - The data will be copied. Notice that matching ants around it which signifies that the data has been copied successfully.

  • Step 4 - Next Right click on the location of the column you want the data to be. From the list displayed go to the paste options section.

  • Step 5 - In the paste optoins section, click on the Paste Special option to display a sub list of option. From the list, click the Paste Special option.

  • Step 6 - Next, the Paste Special dialog box will be displayed. In this dialog box click to mark the checkbox Transpose option as shown in the image below. Then click on the OK button.

  • Step 7 - Your row data will now be pasted in column successfully.

  • Step 8 - Just simply delete the row data and position your column data well as shown in the image below.

  • Step 9 - Now convert the column data back to row. Select and copy the data.

  • Step 10 - Right click on the location of the row where you want the data to be. From the list displayed go to the paste options section. In the paste optoins section, click on the Paste Special option to display a sub list of option. From the list, click the Paste Special option.

  • Step 11 - Next, the Paste Special dialog box will be displayed. In this dialog box click to mark the checkbox Transpose option as shown in the image below. Then click on the OK button.

  • Step 12 - Your column data will now be pasted in row format successfully.
