How To Add Signature

In this tutorial I will be showing you step by step on how to add you signature in an Excel worksheet. This will take you only few minutes and you are done.

  • ADDING SIGNATURE
  • Step 1 - Open a blank excel worksheet for this tutorial.

  • Step 2 - Write your signature on a white piece of paper, snap it and send it to your computer system.

  • Step 3 - Now go back to Excel. In your worksheet, click the Insert tab then click on the Illustrations options. From the Illustrations group displayed, click the Picture option then click on This Device option from the dropdown list of options displayed.

  • Step 4 - Excel will open your file explorer. Go to where you keep the picture of your signature in your computer system. Select it and click the Insert button.

  • Step 5 - This signature will now be inserted into your excel worksheet as shown in the image below.

  • Step 6 - Right click on the picture. From the list of options displayed, click on Format Picture

  • Step 7 - After clicking on the format picture, the Format Picture pane will be displayed at the right side of your excel windows. Inside the pane, click on the picture tab icon. In the picture tab section, open the Picture Corrections section.

  • Step 8 - Inside the picture correction section, change the sharpness option to around 65%, brightness around 40% and the contrast around 20%.

    NOTE:

    Depending on the paper and how the background looks like you can always adjust the sharpness, brightness and contrast to make it as perfect as possible.

  • Step 9 - After you are done, click on the close icon to close the pane.

  • Step 10 - Now while the image is still selected, click on the Picture Format tab and go to the Adjust group. Click on the Color button option which will display list of options. From the dropdown list of options, click on Set Transparent Color.

    TIP:

    The Set Transparent Color option makes the background of the image to completely fade away leaving only the solid shape or writing.

  • Step 11 - Now, after clicking that option above, notice you mouse pointer changes to another icon. So now, simply click directly on the image.

  • Step 12 - Notice the white background in the image is now completely removed leaving only the signature writing in the worksheet.

  • Step 13 - Next you can use the text box to write the name as shown in the image below.

  • Step 14 - Remove the text box background and outline, then move the signature above the name and centralize it as shown in the image below.

  • Step 15 - You can also add a line directly above the name of the signatory as shown in the image below.

  • Step 16 - ALL DONE!
