Multiplication In Excel

In this tutorial I am going to be showing you how to perform multiplication in Excel. This is very simple to learn, just follow the steps below.

I will be using the data in the image below. You can replicate the data in the image or you can create your own data. All that is needed is data that you can use for this multiplication in Excel exercise.

  • Step 1 - Click or Select the cell you want the multiplied result to display.

  • Step 2 - Inside the cell type in the - Equals to = and opening parenthesis (. Then type in the cell address to be multiplied by. In my own case the cell address is B3.

  • Step 3 - Type in the multiplication sign * and type in the address to be multiplied. In my own case the cell address is C3. And lastly type in the closing parenthesis). Then press Enter key on your keyboard

  • Step 4 - Data in C3 is now multiplied by B3 giving the result as displayed in the image below.

  • Step 5 - Now to get the result of the remaining cells, place the mouse pointer close to the small box at the bottom right edge of the cell as shown in the image below. You will notice that the mouse pointer changes to a plus sign icon.

  • Step 6 - Hold down the click button and drag down to the rest of the cells.

  • Step 7 - Release the click button, and the other cells will automatically add up and display the result.
