How To Create QRCode

DEFINITION:

QR Code which stands for Quick Response Code is a type of two dimensional (2D) bar code that is used to provide easy access to online information through scanning by smart phones and other devices.

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to create a QR Code in excel.

  • CREATING QRCODE
  • Step 1 - Open your excel worksheet. Click on the Insert tab and go to the Add ins group. In this group click on Add ins.

    Make sure you have data connection on your computer system.

  • Step 2 - The online Office Add ins store dialog box windows will begin to load up. Depending on how fast your internet signal is, it shouldn't take less than 2secs to load up.

  • Step 3 - Now when the Office Add ins store fully loads up, by the categories and at the right side are list of add-ins. Also above the category is the search input field.

  • Step 4 - Next, inside the search input field search for QR4Office. And when it is displayed at the right side, click the Add button beside it as shown in the image below.

  • Step 5 - Another dialog box will be displayed which contains brief affirmation details about license terms and policy. Click on the Continue button in this dialog box to continue.

  • Step 6 - The QR4Office Add-in will be downloaded and its pane will be open at the right side of the excel windows.

  • Step 7 - Inside the QR4Office pane, in the top section enter the url or text that you want to encode. (In our case we shall be encoding: youtube.com).

  • Step 8 - Next is the options section where you can use to customize how you want your QRCode to look like. Here you can change the color, background, size and also adjust error correction.

  • Step 9 - After customizing how you want you QRCode to look like, you can move to the next section which is the preview. This section simply shows a preview of the text encoded and the what the QRCode looks like.

  • Step 10 - Before you jump to click on the insert button, there a brief detail at the bottom. This is saying that you can actually right click on the QRCode preview to copy it, paste special, save as picture and manually insert. So, lets try it in the next step.

  • Step 11 - Right Click on the QRCode image, this will display list of options as shown in the image below.

  • Step 12 - Now to follow the normal process, simply click on the Insert button.

  • Step 13 - The QR Code is now inserted as shown in the image below.

  • Step 14 - Close the QR4Office pane as we do not need it anymore.

  • Step 15 - For better view, you can resize the QRCode and move it to the center. ALL DONE!
