Insert Pictures

In Excel you can put any type of picture you want inside your worksheet. Follow the simple steps below to do this.

  • INSERTING PICTURES
  • Step 1 - Open the worksheet that you want to insert the picture.
  • Step 2 - Click on the Insert tab, go the Illustrations group and click on the Illustrations option. This will display the full illustrations group of commands. From the illustration group of commands click the Pictures option. (This will display a dropdown box with options)

  • Stock Images - If you click this option, it will require internet connection to open stock images or get stock images from your computer device.
  • Online Pictures - If you click this option it will require internet connection to open pictures online
  • This Device - If you click this option, excel will open the file explorer for you to browse the picture you want to use.
  • Step 3 - Click on From this Device option Excel automatically opens your file explorer where you can search for pictures on your device.
    Select the picture(s) and click the insert button.

  • Step 4 - The picture will be successfully inserted into the worksheet.

  • FORMATTING INSERTED PICTURES
  • Step 1 - Click on the picture you want to format.
  • Step 2 - In the menu tab, the Picture Format tab will be selected. This tab has different groups of related commands for you to use and format the picture.

    NOTE:

    When you insert a picture, the Picture Format tab will automatically show in the menu tab and display its ribbon

  • Step 2 (Alternate formatting) - Right click on the picture you want to format, from the dropdown list, move to Format Picture and click on it, (This will open the format picture pane, from the right side of your excel workbook) then select the options you want to use and start formatting the picture.
