Page Header and Footer

In this tutorial I am going to be showing you how you can add footer and header into your worksheet. If you have done the MS Word tutorial, you will definitely find this easy to do.
Follow the fews teps below to know how to add footer and header in Excel worksheet.

  • Step 1 - Open the worksheet that you want to add page header to. Click on the Insert tab, then go to the far right of the insert ribbon and click on the Text option. From the dropdown text group displayed, click on the Header & Footer option.

  • Step 2 - Excel will add the header section at the top of your worksheet. You can type in the heading of your worksheet in the page header or can also place any other heading there.

  • PAGE HEADER PRESETS
  • Step 1 - To add pre-defined or built-in headers to your excel worksheet; click any where inside the header section, go to the Header and Footer tab, inside the Header and Footer group, click on the Header option. This will display a dropdown list of headers preset that your can use for your header.

  • Step 2 - When you click on any of the preset, it will be added to your worksheet header.

  • Step 1 - Open the worksheet that you want to add page header to. Click on the Insert tab, then go to the far right of the insert ribbon and click on the Text option. From the dropdown text group displayed, click on the Header & Footer option.

  • Step 2 - Excel will add the footer section at the bottom of your worksheet. Scroll down to the bottom of that sheet and you will find the footer section. You can type in the page number or authors name at the footer of your worksheet or any other footer details there.

  • Step 1 - To add pre-defined or built-in footers to your excel worksheet; click any where inside the footer section, go to the Header and Footer tab, inside the Header and Footer group, click on the Footer option. This will display a dropdown list of footer preset that your can use for your header.

There are other things you can also use in the Header & Footer tab. Apart from pre-defined style or presets, you can also add elements to header and footer. These elements are found in the Header & Footer Elements group. There you can add click to insert page number format, number of pages, current data, current time, file path, file name, sheet name, picture and also format picture.

In the Navigation group there are two options which is used to take you to the header and footer section.

Lastly is the Options group, which is used enable various options for the worksheet.

You can also format your header and footer using options from your Home tab, but there are certain options that will always require you to used the Header & Footer tab in the menu tab.
